The Ooze Foundation was established in 2020 with the overarching goal of easing the burdens of poverty on residents of Southeastern Michigan, with an emphasis on homelessness and child poverty. Poverty in the region, specifically Detroit, is a massive problem that ravages the well-being of a huge portion of those in this area, across age and racial lines. Although no one person or entity can solve this overwhelming problem, the collective efforts of the Foundation strives to make a difference in the lives of individuals.
The Foundation seeks to gather resources and supplies to donate to those in need, whether they be a young child in need of necessary materials for an education, or an elderly homeless person without adequate clothing and supplies to get through a harsh Michigan winter. All proposed activities strive to lessen the stressors placed on impoverished Southeastern Michigan residents, further the current work being done to eliminate homelessness, and level the playing field for children in need.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly exacerbated the needs of people from all walks of life, with the situation growing dire for those that were living in poverty before the virus. The Foundation aims to take the success Ooze Wholesale has found through being deemed an “essential” business, and give back directly to the community through a variety of outlets.
